Privacy and Confidentiality

Thank you for visiting the "veego.ee" web platform ("the Platform"), operated by VEEGO OÜ. We respect your privacy and protect your personal data. For more information, please read this privacy policy. The privacy policy sets out how we collect, use, and (under certain conditions) disclose your personal data. It also explains the steps we take to protect your personal data. By visiting the Platform directly or via another platform, you become aware of the scope and conditions under which the Platform processes personal data. Data protection is a matter of trust, and your privacy is important to us. Therefore, we use your name and other information about you only in the manner set out in this privacy policy. We collect and store your personal data only to the extent necessary and relevant for us. We retain your information only as required by law or as needed for the purposes for which it was collected. You can browse this Platform without submitting any personal data to us. While browsing the Platform, you remain anonymous; we cannot identify you unless you open a user account on our Platform.

Data We Collect

We collect, store, and process your data in order to handle purchases made on the Platform, manage any subsequent claims, and provide services to you. This data may include: name, job title, date of birth, email address, postal address, delivery address (if different from the postal address), telephone number, mobile phone number, payment details, payment card information, or bank account details.

With your consent, we may contact you by email with details about other products and services. If you no longer wish to receive marketing communications from us, you can opt out at any time.

In order to deliver a product to you, we may provide your name and address to a third party (for example, a courier or supplier).

Payments made via the Platform are processed by our relevant agent. You must provide only accurate and non-misleading information to us or to our agent or the Platform, keep it up to date, and notify us of any changes. The details of your actual orders may be stored with us, but for security reasons we cannot retrieve them directly. However, you can access this information by logging into your account on the Platform. There, you can view the details of your completed, open, and soon-to-be-dispatched orders, as well as manage your address details, bank details, and any newsletters you have subscribed to. You agree to treat other users’ personal data obtained from the Platform as confidential and not disclose it to any unauthorized third party. We assume no liability for misuse of passwords unless such misuse is our direct fault. If you decide to provide us with personal data, you consent to the transfer and storage of that information on our servers.

Personal data collected for marketing purposes and through user interactions is retained for five years. Data related to payment of service fees on the Platform is retained for seven years in accordance with accounting regulations. VEEGO OÜ ensures that data is kept inaccessible to third parties and protected from unauthorized access, accidental loss, destruction, or damage.

Other Uses of Your Personal Data

We may use your personal data for opinion and market research. Your data will be anonymized and used solely for statistical purposes. You can opt out at any time. Any answers to surveys or opinion polls we conduct will not be shared with third parties. Your email address will only be needed if you wish to participate in consumer contests. We store the answers to our surveys separately from your email address.

We may also send you information about our Platform, our other web platforms, our products, promotions, newsletters, or anything related to other companies in our group or our business partners. If you do not wish to receive the additional information described in this paragraph (or any part of it), please click on the "Unsubscribe" link in the email we send you. Within seven working days (i.e., days that are not (i) Saturday or Sunday, or (ii) a public holiday) of receiving your instructions, we will stop sending you the requested information. If your instructions are unclear, we will contact you for clarification.

Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose personal data to respond to legal requirements, enforce our policies, respond to claims that content violates the rights of others, or to protect anyone’s rights, property, or safety. Such information will be disclosed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. We may also share your personal data with the following recipients:

  1. Third parties who provide shared content and services (such as registration, transactions, and customer support) to help detect and prevent potentially illegal acts, breaches of our policies, and guide decisions about their products, services, and communications. These third parties may only use this information to send you marketing communications if you have agreed to their services.
  2. Contracted service providers who assist us in our business operations (e.g., fraud investigations, payment collection, affiliate and rewards programs, and customer support).
  3. Other third parties to whom you expressly request us to send your information (or about whom you were otherwise expressly informed and consented to when using a specific service).
  4. Law enforcement, other government officials, or third parties in response to an information request related to a criminal investigation, alleged illegal activity, or any other activity that may expose us, you, or other Platform users to legal liability. Personal data we disclose may include your user ID and user ID history, name, city, county, phone number, email address, fraud complaints, bids and listings history, or anything else we deem relevant.
  5. Other agencies investigating fraud, intellectual property infringements, piracy, or other illegal activities, if we, in our discretion, consider it necessary or appropriate under a confidentiality agreement or as required by law. In such cases, we may disclose your name, address, city, county, postal code, country, telephone number, email address, and company name.
  6. Other business entities, in the event we plan to merge with or be acquired by such business entities. (Should a combination occur, we will require the new merged entity to follow this privacy policy with respect to your personal data. If your personal data will be used against this policy, you will be notified in advance.)
Consumer Competitions

For each competition, we use the data to notify winners and to advertise our offers. For more information, please see the participation terms of the respective competition.

Third Parties and Links

We may share your data with other companies in our group. We may also pass your data to our agents and subcontractors to help us fulfill our obligations to you. For example, we may use third parties to assist with product delivery, payment collection, data analysis, marketing, or customer service. We may exchange information with third parties for fraud protection and credit risk reduction. We may transfer databases containing your personal information if we sell our business or part of it. Otherwise, except as provided in this privacy policy, we will not sell or disclose your personal data to third parties without your prior consent unless it is necessary to achieve the objectives set out in this privacy policy or we are required to do so by law. The Platform may contain advertisements by third parties and links to other platforms or frames of other platforms.

No Spam, Spyware, or Spoofing

We and our users do not tolerate spam. Please make sure to set your Platform communication preferences so that we can communicate with you in the way you prefer. You are not permitted to contact other users of the Platform for commercial purposes outside of posted listings without their explicit consent. If you notice spam or spoof emails related to the Platform, please report them to us. You may not use our communication tools to send spam or any other content that would violate our user agreement.

Account Protection

Your password is the key to your account. Use unique numbers, letters, and special characters, and do not disclose your Platform password to anyone. If you share your password or personal information with others, remember that you are responsible for all actions taken on your account. If you lose control of your password, you may lose significant control over your personal data, and you could be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf. Therefore, if your password has been compromised for any reason, you should immediately notify the Platform operator and change your password.

Security

Your data is stored on our servers. We treat data as an asset that must be protected, and we use many tools (encryption, passwords, physical security, etc.) to protect your personal data against unauthorized access and disclosure. However, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications, and other users may misuse your personal data collected from the Platform. Therefore, while we work hard to protect your privacy, we do not guarantee that your personal information or private communications will always remain private.

We have implemented appropriate technical and security measures to prevent unauthorized or unlawful access to your information and to prevent accidental loss, destruction, or damage to your information. When we collect data through the Platform, we store your personal information on a secure server. We use firewalls on our servers. When we collect payment card data electronically, we protect it using encryption, including Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. While we cannot guarantee 100% security, it makes it difficult for hackers to decrypt your data. We strongly recommend that you do not send us any credit or debit card information via unencrypted electronic communications. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in connection with the collection, storage, and disclosure of your information. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity from you before disclosing personal data. You are responsible for protecting your password and your computer from unauthorized access.

Cookies

Accepting cookies is not a requirement for visiting the Platform. However, we draw your attention to the fact that the "Pay" function on the Platform and ordering are only possible with cookies enabled. Cookies are small text files that identify your computer to our server as a unique user when you visit certain pages on the Platform, and they are stored by your internet browser on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies can be used to identify your IP address, saving you time while you are on or wish to enter the Platform. We only use cookies for your convenience in using the Platform (e.g., to remember who you are, or to retrieve your cart without needing to re-enter your email address), not to obtain or use any other information about you (for instance, not for targeted advertising). You can set your browser to refuse cookies, but that would limit your use of the Platform. Please accept our assurance that the use of cookies does not include personal or private data and is virus-free. If you would like more information about cookies, please go to https://allaboutcookies.org, or for information on how to remove cookies from your browser, go to https://allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/index.html.

Our Platform uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the Platform analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookies about your use of the Platform (including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the Platform, to compile reports on Platform activity for Platform operators, and to provide other services relating to Platform activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser; however, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of the Platform. By using this Platform, you consent to Google processing data about you in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Your Rights

By providing us with your data and continuing to use the Platform, we infer that you have read and accepted the principles and conditions of our privacy policy. VEEGO OÜ reserves the right to unilaterally amend the general terms of the privacy policy if necessary, notifying Platform users accordingly.

If you have concerns about your data, you have the right to request access to any personal data we may hold or process about you. You have the right to ask us to correct any inaccuracies in your data at no cost. You also have the right at any time to request that we stop using your personal data for direct marketing purposes. For any questions regarding the privacy policy, please contact us at admin@veego.ee.

If you believe that your right to privacy or data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority for data protection (the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate).
